Description:Catechism 1788
Slavery - the more we do what we want the more we want. We fall into slavery to our passions: gluttony, sloth, lust, avarice, etc check out the 7 deadly sins
Freedom: Christ says come to me and I will set you free (not sure exact quote. The more we open ourselves to what God asks of us, the happier we become.
Faith and works get us to heaven. Corollates with slavery and freedom. Slavery is easy because we do or don’t do as we choose but the fruit is overweight, loss of relationships, a messy life/house/work, unfinished projects when due to sloth.
Freedom isn’t free. Meditating on God’s Word establishes and retains relationships, makes us do what is before us every day and plan and execute what keeps on on the path to holiness. As Fat Dag says, Attendance Goals keep us on track and headed in the right direction.
I always th o of when Becky started college and she was so frustrated trying to figure things out. She would go to the counselor who would always say vesicallt “figure it out”. Fair th and learning g God’s will are almost the same except instead of a Google search, you pray and a Bible or inspired reading and watch and listen and, yes, wait patiently for the answer that bears much fruit
